YOUNG ARI SCHOOL OF POLITICS STARTED SEMINARS
Young ARI, which conducts its operations within the body of ARI Movement, started its “School of Politics” project regarding inner education. We believe that every Young ARI who should know the politics in deep details, not with its main lines and who claims quality, should know and digest recent political history of Turkey, basic theory of politics, current worldwide debates. They should know these points since the philosophy of ARI Movement is the politics depending on the knowledge. Within this framework in 2003 Young ARI decided to establish a school of politics to realize its “inner” education. In the General Meeting, as one of 2003’targets,we planned to organize seminars twice a month within the scope of the project. One of them is given by a famous academician or a public-known politician on a subject on which he is an expert; the other one is given by law and political science based members of ARI and Young ARI on the subject they specialised on.
In this direction, the first seminar was held at seven o’clock on Friday evening on February 28, under the title of “What is politics?” One of the members of ARI Movement, Tunga Yılmaz, took place in the meeting as a speaker and stated that the politics is defined in the most closely way to his by Ayşe Kadıoğlu. According to Kadıoğlu, politics is “an attempt to change and transform the near surroundings, the society, the country and the world in parallel lines with our wills. It is a large definition from cleaning our garden to making revolution.
Today the politics that is understood in our daily lives is modern politics: all activities and attempts to administrate main institutions (state, election, electorate, political parties, democracy, tax) and to be in power. As Michel Foucault said “forming a government and the tecniques of governing becomes the only political issue, the only real field of political struggle and conflict.”
